Elementary Art explores the area of Art History through the introduction of masters from the Renaissance through the 21st century. A variety of masterpieces are examined and students attempt to reproduce the style and character of these works using a plethora of mediums such as acrylics, chalk, clay and metal. Individual portfolios are compiled for art festivals and competitions.
Permeating the curriculum is the acknowledgement that “creativity” is solely a gift from God. Without His creative genius, there would not be art. In all we do, our goal is to glorify the giver of this gift.
An enriching secondary art program provides the tools for creative imagination and out-of-the box thinking. Various artistic techniques, along with a genre of art movements, are presented in order to facilitate further originality and creativity for unique portfolios for each student.
