Head of School / Secondary Principal

Ovilla Christian School seeks qualified applicants for the combined position of Head of School/Secondary Principal. Ovilla Christian School embodies the educational endeavor of Ovilla Road Baptist Church. OCS cultivates an environment in which followers of Christ may flourish as they become biblical thinkers, lifelong learners, and servant leaders. 

The Head of School will be on staff at Ovilla Road Baptist Church and will carry out the educational mission of ORBC under the supervision of the Senior Pastor as a direct report. This role serves as the leader of the school, responsible for its daily operation and carrying out the mission and vision of shaping the Christian worldviews in students. The Head of School leads the faculty and staff and oversees the daily operation, financial health, spiritual climate, academic standards, development, and community relationships of the school. 

In alignment with the school's mission, the Secondary Principal has the responsibility to supervise and develop secondary teachers and staff to be prepared for excellence in pursuit of the mission. The Secondary Principal will nurture the growth of Middle and Upper School students spiritually, academically, physically, socially, and relationally.

This position requires:

  • A Master’s degree in education or related field. A Master’s degree in Educational Administration is preferred. 

  • Current ACSI administrator certification.

  • Five years of demonstrated, effective administration experience. 

  • Growing knowledge of Scripture and its application to all of life. 

  • Understanding of and appreciation for student mentorship and the developmental needs of Upper School and Middle School students.

  • Ability to work well with colleagues in all areas of education including planning, assessment, and collaboration for student growth and the health of the school community. 

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.  

  • Personal active faith in Jesus Christ. This includes active membership in and a commitment to the mission of Ovilla Road Baptist Church and agreement with each statement in the OCS Statement of Faith.

Athletic Director / Football Defensive Coordinator

The mission of the Upper School of Ovilla Christian School is to provide opportunities and guidance by challenging students in academics as well as athletics competition and the fine arts for learning, service, and leadership within a biblical framework to the glory of Jesus Christ.

With one hundred Upper School students in 2023-2024, Ovilla Christian School currently competes in TAPPS 2A. The OC Athletic Program boasts a five-time state champion volleyball program, a state champion baseball program, and a full range of successful sports at both the Middle and Upper School levels. OCS needs a strong, visionary leader to manage the growth of the program to the next level of excellence. This person also needs to be able to handle the daily operations of the individual sports, including travel logistics, scheduling, and athlete compliance. The AD should develop/maintain a good rapport among the coaches and be available to assist at home games.

This position requires:

  • A Bachelor’s degree. Preference will be given to candidates with at least 18 hours of Master’s level classes in Education (or a related field or equivalent work experience) or a Master’s degree. 

  • Three years of demonstrated, successful coaching experience. 

  • Collaborative planning as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to oversee the daily operations of the Athletic Department in particular and OCS in general.

  • Discipleship of student-athletes in all aspects of living an excellent life devoted to Christ.

  • Intentional and meaningful contribution to developing a culture of excellence that is guided by the stated mission of the school.

  • Participation as an active member of Ovilla Road Baptist Church.

Lower School Teacher

The Lower School of Ovilla Christian School will provide opportunities and routines to develop habits as well as the foundational knowledge and skills to love learning and to know God’s plan of redemption through His Word. In alignment with the school's mission, all teachers have the responsibility to disciple students and actively engage in the OCS community in ways that promote student growth.

This position requires:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a focus on education, subject matter, or related discipline.

  • Three years of demonstrated, effective teaching experience.

  • The knowledge and skills to teach elementary students in reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, Bible, and other subjects as required.

  • The ability to provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed for the development of the whole child—spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially.

  • The desire and competence to plan collaboratively with colleagues to develop units and implement instruction that is coherent, purposeful, and engaging.

Upper School Teacher

  • The desire and competence to plan collaboratively with colleagues to develop units and implement instruction that is coherent, purposeful, and engaging.

Music Teacher

We are seeking a music teacher for PreK through Grade 8. In alignment with the school's mission, all teachers have a responsibility to disciple students and actively engage in the OCS community in ways that promote student growth spiritually, academically, physically, socially, and relationally.

This position requires:

  • The knowledge and skills to teach PreK-8 music courses that equip students with foundations in music literacy; creative expression; historical and cultural relevance; and critical evaluation and response.

  • The ability to plan, prepare and execute special musical performances for lower school and secondary school.

  • The desire and competence to plan collaboratively with colleagues to develop units and implement instruction that is coherent, purposeful, and engaging.

School Nurse

The School Nurse shall oversee and be responsible for the general health, safety, and welfare of the student body, the faculty, and the staff by managing the health care program of the school.

This position requires:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree (minimum LVN, RN preferred) with a major study area deemed appropriate by the School Administrator and a commitment to excellence in Christian education.

Maintenance Assistant

We need a Christian man or woman to join our team. He or she is expected to follow maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds. He or she will manage task requests during the school day and work under the direction of the Office Manager.

Bus Driver

We regularly transport students to events both during the school day and on evenings and weekends, and we need more qualified Christian drivers to serve the students with excellence. A driver must ensure the safe and orderly transportation of students to and from assigned destinations. A valid Texas commercial driver’s license (Class B) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements is required. Authorization to operate a vehicle with air brakes is preferred. The pay is $60/trip.

Substitute Teacher

We need Christian substitute teachers who love students and will facilitate the continuation of the OCS education program as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of a regular teacher. A substitute must maintain effective classroom management strategies and calmly maintain professionalism as he or she follows the plans provided by the teacher, substitute coordinator, and/or administration.

Eagle Camp Staff

We need Eagle Camp Staff to provide diligent supervision for the children in their care.

The Eagle camp program is an extension of the Ovilla Christian School day. It is established to provide proper care and supervision Monday through Friday for students in PreK3 - Grade 8 before and after school. The program seeks to develop the character of Christ in each child through the role models provided by the staff, methods of supervision, and Biblical discipline. An atmosphere of security, love, and personal well being is provided as the staff attempts to minister to the whole child.
